What to do if the AI interviewer is responding slowly or appears to be stuck during your session.

AI Responses Are Slow or Not Loading

If the AI interviewer seems slow to respond or gets stuck, here's what to try.

Check Your Internet Connection

Whirl's AI requires a stable internet connection. Run a quick speed test at fast.com. We recommend at least 10 Mbps for Video Mode.

Wait a Moment

During peak usage times, AI responses may take a few extra seconds. If the interviewer shows a loading indicator, give it up to 30 seconds before taking any action.

Refresh the Page

If the AI appears completely stuck (no response after 60 seconds):

  1. Note where you are in the interview
  2. Refresh the page
  3. The session should resume from where it left off

Clear Your Browser Cache

Stale cached data can sometimes interfere with session loading.

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac)
  2. Select Cached images and files
  3. Click Clear data
  4. Reload Whirl

Try Incognito / Private Mode

Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with Whirl. Try opening the app in an incognito or private window to test.

Switch Browsers

If you're using Safari or Firefox, try Chrome or Edge for the best compatibility.

If the issue persists across multiple sessions, please contact support@whirlinterview.com with the following:

  • Your browser and OS
  • Approximate time the issue occurred
  • What you were doing when it happened
