Text Mode vs. Video Mode

Whirl offers two ways to practice interviews. Here's a breakdown to help you choose.

Text Mode

In Text Mode, you type your answers into a chat interface.

Best for:

  • Beginners who are still building confidence
  • Practicing specific answers without time pressure
  • Sessions where you're in a quiet environment
  • Focusing purely on content and structure of answers

Features:

  • Clean chat interface
  • No camera or microphone required
  • Unlimited thinking time

Video Mode

In Video Mode, you speak your answers on camera, just like a real video interview.

Best for:

  • Simulating real remote interviews (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Practicing delivery, tone, and body language
  • Advanced preparation closer to interview day

Features:

  • Live AI avatar interviewer
  • Your video and audio are recorded
  • Transcripts generated automatically
  • Voice-based AI responses

Our Recommendation

Start with Text Mode to perfect your answers, then switch to Video Mode to work on delivery. Using both gives you the most complete preparation.

⚠️ Video Mode requires a webcam and microphone. Make sure your browser has permission to access them.
