Creating Your First Interview Session

Setting up a mock interview with Whirl takes less than 2 minutes. Here's how.

Step 1: Go to New Interview

From your Dashboard, click the New Interview button, or navigate to it from the top navigation bar.

Step 2: Enter Your Job Details

Fill in the following fields:

  • Job Title — e.g., "Software Engineer", "Product Manager", "Marketing Analyst"
  • Company Name (optional) — Whirl can tailor questions to the company culture
  • Job Description (optional) — Paste in the job posting for hyper-relevant questions
  • Interview Stage — Choose from: Screening, Technical, Behavioral, Hiring Manager, Panel, or Executive

Step 3: Upload Your Resume (Optional)

Uploading your resume allows Whirl to ask questions based on your actual experience. Whirl accepts PDF files. Your resume is saved so you don't have to upload it every time.

Step 4: Choose Your Settings

  • Difficulty — Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert
  • Interviewer Style — Friendly, Neutral, or Challenging
  • Mode — Text or Video

Step 5: Start!

Hit Start Interview and your AI interviewer will greet you and begin the session.

💡 Tip: Start with Medium difficulty to get a baseline, then increase as you improve.
